Kitchen Mini Makeover ~ Paint
One weekend I decided I needed something fun to do. Actually, back up...a couple of years ago, we bought our first house. The window in the kitchen looks like this, with the original red paint. I like red paint, but these shelves needed some love. The top shelves usually sit empty except for major holidays (mostly Christmas), or they have something weird sitting on them. I have had a really hard time coming up with a way I wanted to decorate them. Well, I was so sick of how boring it looked and decided this was the something fun I needed to do.
I have been planning on doing my kitchen red and teal for about a year now, and just haven't really done anything to add some teal. So, let's meet the teal...
Well, the first coat at least...
I was a tad bit worried after the first coat I must say. I was really hoping I didn't just make a big ugly mistake.
Once all the red was covered up though, I knew I loved it! It is so bright and fresh. I used to sort of hate...not entirely hate...the "fancy" woodwork bordering the whole shelf/window. After the paint, I love it. And I like it even more now that things are completed!
Come back tomorrow for the Stache Party, and then on Wednesday, I will be sharing a topiary I made!

A Window From My Past
I went to a home show two years ago and that is where my inspiration came from! My parents are replacing old windows, so I got this one for free! All I did was clean the window and spray-painted it white. I found the berry wreath at my local craft store one sale. (I had been wanting one of these for a while). I pounded a nail in the top and hung the wreath with a piece of wire.
Here it is on my wall. Love it!
I realize the wreath could use a little help! These are a pain to get right...geez. I would like to add some vinyl to the window, but just can't decide what to use. Any ideas? Also, I thought it would be awesome to sand the edges to give it a shabby look. What do you think?
This week, I am partying over at a variety of places. Check out my new "blog parties" page for some sweeeet ideas and to see where I party!

Distressed Family Frame
I make display projects for a local craft store. This is one of my latest creations.
It originally started out as an Easter decoration, with embellished papers in each of the windows. The store wanted me to add pictures so they could display it longer. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed, because I have been excited to get this one back to hang in my home. I have the perfect place for it!
I think it would look super cool with mirrors in it. What do you think?
