Monday — Faith When Life Changes
Reading: Job 1
Focus Scripture: Job 1:21
Short Summary
Job was a righteous man who loved God and cared for his family. Satan claimed that Job was faithful only because his life was easy, so the Lord allowed Job to be tested. In one terrible day, Job lost his possessions, his servants, and all of his children.
Although overwhelmed with grief, Job chose to worship God instead of turning away from Him. He acknowledged that everything he had ultimately came from the Lord. His example reminds us that faith is shown not only in times of abundance but also during seasons of sorrow.
Questions
Why do you think Job continued to worship God after losing so much?
When have you trusted Heavenly Father even when life didn't go as planned?
What blessings have come because you kept your faith during a difficult time?
How can we support someone who is experiencing loss?
Christ-Centered Focus
Jesus Christ understands every sorrow we experience because He suffered for us. Like Job, the Savior remained faithful to the Father through unimaginable suffering. Because of Him, our losses are never permanent, and our hope can remain strong.
Family Invitation
Think of someone who may be struggling. Pray for them by name and reach out with a text, note, or act of kindness.
Tuesday — Trusting When We Don't Understand
Reading: Job 2–3
Focus Scripture: Job 2:10
Short Summary
Job's trials continued as he was afflicted with painful sores. His wife questioned whether remaining faithful was worth it, yet Job refused to abandon God. Later, as he mourned, Job honestly expressed his deep sorrow and confusion.
These chapters remind us that faithful people still experience sadness. The Lord never asks us to pretend we are fine. He invites us to bring our pain to Him while continuing to trust Him.
Questions
Is it okay to tell Heavenly Father when we're hurting? Why?
What helps you keep praying when life feels difficult?
Why is it important to trust God even when we don't understand His reasons?
How can we comfort someone without trying to "fix" everything?
Christ-Centered Focus
Jesus Himself experienced deep sorrow in Gethsemane and on the cross. He knows exactly how grief feels and offers peace that no one else can give.
Family Invitation
Spend a few extra minutes in personal prayer today. Tell Heavenly Father something that is on your heart, and then quietly listen.
Wednesday — God's Wisdom Is Greater
Reading: Job 12–14
Focus Scripture: Job 12:13
Short Summary
As Job responded to his friends, he reminded them that God's wisdom is far greater than human understanding. His friends believed suffering always meant someone had sinned, but Job knew life was more complicated than that.
Job also expressed hope that God would eventually remember him and bring new life after death. Even while asking difficult questions, he continued looking toward the Lord.
Questions
Why can't we always explain why hard things happen?
How does remembering God's wisdom help us during trials?
What gives you hope when life feels uncertain?
How can we avoid judging people who are struggling?
Christ-Centered Focus
Jesus Christ sees the full picture when we can only see a small part. He lovingly guides us even when His purposes aren't immediately clear.
Family Invitation
The next time something frustrating happens today, pause before complaining. Say, "Heavenly Father sees more than I do."
Thursday — My Redeemer Lives
Reading: Job 19
Focus Scripture: Job 19:25
Short Summary
In one of the greatest testimonies in the Old Testament, Job declared, "I know that my redeemer liveth." Even though his circumstances had not improved, his faith in a living Redeemer remained firm.
Job looked beyond his present suffering to the hope of resurrection and redemption. His testimony points directly to Jesus Christ, who overcame death and makes eternal life possible for all.
Questions
Why do you think Job could say, "I know," instead of "I hope"?
What does the word Redeemer mean?
How does knowing Jesus lives change the way we face hard times?
How can we strengthen our own testimony of Christ?
Christ-Centered Focus
Jesus Christ is our living Redeemer. He rescues us from sin, comforts us in sorrow, and promises resurrection because He lives today.
Family Invitation
Share your testimony of Jesus Christ with someone in your family. Even one or two sentences can strengthen faith.
Friday — Looking Beyond Easy Answers
Reading: Job 21–24
Focus Scripture: Job 23:10
Short Summary
Job continued explaining that life isn't always fair in the way people expect. Wicked people sometimes seem to prosper while righteous people suffer. Even so, Job trusted that God knew him perfectly and that one day His justice would be complete.
These chapters teach patience. The Lord's timing and justice are eternal, even when we cannot yet see the outcome.
Questions
Why is it sometimes hard to understand fairness?
How can trusting God help us be patient?
What does it mean to let God be the Judge?
When have you seen the Lord strengthen someone during a trial?
Christ-Centered Focus
Jesus Christ is the perfectly just Judge and the perfectly merciful Savior. He knows every heart and will one day make every wrong right.
Family Invitation
Instead of comparing yourself to others today, thank Heavenly Father for three blessings He has given you.
Saturday — The Lord Speaks
Reading: Job 38–40
Focus Scripture: Job 38:4
Short Summary
After many chapters of questions, the Lord finally spoke. Rather than explaining every reason for Job's suffering, God reminded Job of His infinite wisdom, power, and love through the wonders of creation.
Job learned that trusting God is sometimes more important than having every answer. The Creator who governs the universe is worthy of our complete confidence.

Why do you think God talked about His creations instead of explaining everything?
What does nature teach us about Heavenly Father's power?
When have you felt closer to God while outside?
How does remembering God's greatness increase your faith?
Christ-Centered Focus
Jesus Christ is the Creator of heaven and earth. The same Savior who created the stars also knows your name and lovingly guides your life.
Family Invitation
Take a family walk outside. Notice something beautiful God created and thank Him for it.
Sunday — The Lord Restores
Reading: Job 42
Focus Scripture: Job 42:5
Short Summary
Job humbly acknowledged that he had learned more about God through his trials than he had before. The Lord corrected Job's friends for misunderstanding His character and blessed Job with renewed peace and many blessings.
Although every earthly trial isn't resolved the way Job's was, his story teaches that God never forgets His faithful children. Through Jesus Christ, every faithful sacrifice and sorrow will one day be redeemed.

How did Job's understanding of God grow?
What have difficult experiences taught our family?
Why is forgiveness important in this chapter?
How has Jesus helped you become stronger through challenges?
Christ-Centered Focus
Jesus Christ doesn't always remove our trials immediately, but He always walks beside us through them. He can transform our suffering into greater faith and prepare us for eternal joy.

As a family, share one blessing that has come because of a difficult experience.

Memory Scripture: Job 19:25
"For I know that my redeemer liveth."
This verse beautifully summarizes the entire week's message. Even in his deepest suffering, Job looked to the Savior with confidence. It is one of the clearest Old Testament testimonies of Jesus Christ and reminds us that our hope is always found in Him.
Watch for Christ
As you read this week, look for moments when Job chooses to trust God instead of demanding answers. Each time you notice faith replacing fear, remember that Jesus Christ invites us to trust Him in the same way today.
Object Lesson: "The Trust Walk"
Supplies
A blindfold (or scarf)
A few safe household objects (pillows, books, chairs, etc.)
Lesson
Set up a simple obstacle course across the room. Scatter a few pillows, books, or chairs to walk around.
Choose one family member to wear the blindfold.
First, have them try taking a few careful steps without anyone speaking. They'll probably stop quickly or become nervous because they don't know what's ahead.
Next, have another trusted family member (a parent or sibling) stand across the room and calmly give directions:
"Take two small steps forward."
"Turn a little to your right."
"Step over the pillow."
After they safely reach the end, remove the blindfold.
Ask
How did it feel when you couldn't see where you were going?
Was it easier when you trusted someone's voice?
Did you understand why each direction was given while you were walking?
How is this like Job's experience?
Read Together
Read Job 23:10:
"But he knoweth the way that I take..."
Or read Job 19:25:
"For I know that my redeemer liveth."
Discuss
Job couldn't see the reason for his trials. He didn't know what Heavenly Father knew, and he certainly didn't know about the conversation between God and Satan in Job 1. Yet he chose to keep following God's voice.
Sometimes we can't see what lies ahead either. We may not understand why prayers aren't answered immediately, why someone gets sick, or why life feels unfair. Jesus Christ invites us to trust Him anyway. He sees the entire path, even when we can only see the next step.
Connect to Christ
Because Jesus Christ has already walked every difficult path through His Atonement, He knows exactly how to guide us. As we listen to His voice through the Holy Ghost and the scriptures, He can safely lead us through trials we don't yet understand.
This Week We Learned About Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is our living Redeemer who gives us hope beyond suffering.
He understands every pain because He experienced sorrow Himself.
He has perfect wisdom, even when we don't understand His purposes.
He is the Creator who lovingly governs heaven and earth.
He is both perfectly just and perfectly merciful.
He strengthens those who choose to trust Him through life's hardest trials.
Closing Testimony
Job's story reminds us that faith is not built by having every answer but by knowing the Savior. Jesus Christ is our living Redeemer. He understands our grief, walks beside us in our hardest moments, and promises that every faithful trial will one day be made right. As we continue to trust Him, even when life is confusing, we will discover that His love is constant, His wisdom is perfect, and His promises never fail.

Weekly Invitation
Whenever something disappointing, frustrating, or unexpected happens this week, pause before reacting and ask:
"How can I trust Jesus Christ in this moment?"
Offer a simple prayer for strength, then choose one faithful response—whether it is showing patience, expressing gratitude, serving someone else, or remembering that your Redeemer lives. As your family practices turning to the Savior first, you'll discover that He truly gives peace in every storm.
