I have some really great ladies guest posting today.  I first heard of their blog via Ucreate when they shared their Jersey Bracelets.  You may remember my post where I made one!  They have such a fun blog! Here they are!

We are jujuB! Just two friends and neighbors who LOVE to craft. Okay, we don't just love to craft, we are kind of obsessed with it. We get together just to craft at least once a week. Truthfully, since we started jujuB we do it way more than that, but I don't want to sound so obsessed that you think we are crazy. :) Ok, I, Becky, am a little crazy, and Juliana is what keeps us all together. That's why we are such a great team! Check out our blog at jujuBstash.blogspot.com to see what we are up to--and we are always up to something!

We are so excited to share some of our awesome fall projects with you.

We also have lots of fun items available in our Etsy shop. Come shop for Christmas presents and check back to see our Christmas collection debuting soon!!!!

They have lots of great projects, so go visit their blog and look around!

Caramel Apple Dip

Hey friends!  It has been quite a long time since I last posted!  I could go on and on with a list of excuses why I haven't been on here, but truthfully, I have enjoyed the time off.  It has given me lots of time to think about I am so happy to be posting today though!

My sister is getting married soon and my sisters and I threw her a bridal shower this month.  I made some caramel apple dip and I wanted to share the recipe with you.  It took me three attempts, but the third time was definitely the charm!  It is absolutely delicious!

caramel apple dip

All you need as far as ingredients are sugar, water, butter, and sweetened condensed milk.  Here is a link to the recipe.  You have to caramelize the sugar.  This was my first time every doing this, and it was a little difficult until I found this link, which saved the recipe!  Good luck and Happy Holidays!

Toddler Tuesday #5 {Homemade Slime}

I have a fabulous guest blogger today, sharing a really fun activity for kids.  The homemade slime looks like so much fun to make, and super duper fun to play with!  I will let Rach take it from here:

Hi! I'm Rach H blogging at Family Ever After, and I'm so happy to share this here at My Lil Pumpkin Patch!

Are your kids always on the lookout for a new craft to do at home? Well, here's a surprisingly easy project to do with your kiddos, and its cheap and easy! This slime has provided my kids with hours of fun! It was fun to do, especially around Halloween time. We made it about a week ago, and its still moist and perfect for them to play with. It was fun having a science experiment going on in our kitchen.

Here's how to make Homemade Slime:

you'll need-
2 tsp Borax
2 cups water
1 cup glue (about 2 bottles)
1 cup water
food coloring

directions-
Mix the borax and water in a bowl.
Mix the glue, water and food coloring in a separate bowl.
Now mix the ingredients of both bowls together.
That's it!
Store in a ziploc bag.

notes-
*I found Borax in the laundry aisle at Target. It was only $3. We now have enough to last for a lifetime of homemade slime!
*If you use the transparent glue, your slime will turn out shiny. I'm trying this next time!
*Make sure your kids know that this is not edible!!!
*Here's a link to the video I watched to learn how to make this:

I told the kids it was troll bogies (Harry Potter, anyone?) They thought it was hilarious!

Thanks so much Rach!  Doesn't it look like so much fun?!  Go check out her blog for more fun ideas!

Toddler Tuesday #4 {Nursery Rhymes}

Isaac loves nursery rhymes that have actions.  One of his favorite books is one that my family got him for Christmas a couple of years ago.  It has a bunch of nursery rhymes with actions.  It includes rhymes such as "Pat-a-Cake," "This Little Piggy," and "Five Little Ducklings."  I like nursery rhymes because it is so simple to do and can be done pretty much anywhere.

I am going to share one of Isaac's favorites with you today.  I won't be surprised if you have heard this before.  I think there are different versions of it, but here is the one I learned:

Three Little Monkeys

Three Little Monkeys
Swinging in a Tree
Teasing Mr. Alligator,
"Can't Catch Me!"
Here Comes Mr. Alligator,
Sneaky As Can Be...
SNAP!

Two Little Monkeys
Swinging in a Tree, etc.

(As you sing it, hold up # of fingers for the monkeys and swing them, then make an alligator jaw with your hands and clap when the alligator snaps.)

Isaac will randomly start singing this.  It is so much fun!

I'll Be Back Soon!

I am taking a brief break for a few days to get caught up on some things.  My son has been sick, so I haven't gotten a lot of extra things done.  I have some projects that are close to being done that I am really excited to share with you, though!  Just wanted to let you all know I was still alive and planning on coming back soon!  :)

Toddler Tuesday #3 {Hamburger Cookies}

For today's Toddler Tuesday, I asked Chrissy (who will introduce herself in a sec) to share a tutorial on how to make hamburger cookies.  I found her blog on a link party and I thought her idea was so much fun!

Hi guys! {and gals}
I'm Chrissy, the mama in charge over @ For Mamas.
 Well, let's see...
I'm a mama of 2 amazing babes. Really. They're amazing.
They make me smile. They make me feel all warm & cozy.
I'm a wifey. For 1 & 1/2 years. {We're still ameteurs!}
I have a full time job & a part time job.
I've had 2 jobs for the last 3 years. And I love it.
My full time job is for an oil & gas company.
The part time job is once a week @ an auto auction.
I've worked there for 5 years & I can't find the heart to leave that place. I go for the people really.
I had my son shortly after moving to Texas from Missouri 5 1/2 years ago.
I moved for him. And that's why I'm still here.
I was a single mama for 4 years & loved every moment of it.
{Read more of that story here}
I met Chris, we became best friends, & married July 24, 2010.
Emma Ann was born November 12.
So, here I am!
I started my blog because I wanted to tell my stories as a mama, with other mamas.
I want to give my advice.
Share my experiences.
To help anyone who might be going through the same stuff.
The hard times & the good.
And as moms, we are always asking.
Questions come up everyday.
Even the second time around, I have questions.
It's amazing how each child is different.
At the moment, I'm working on my writing.
Not that I need help with writing, but I need help with getting it out there. Typing the words & having the courage to share all the little moments. It's harder than it seems.
In between writings, I've started crafting.
I never crafted anything in my life!
The blogging world got me hooked.
And of course, Pinterest didn't help the situation. (:
I have some DIYers, recipes, & I even have a giveaway once in while!
Back in May, I opened my own Etsy shop.
I call it House of Bremma.
-Now, on to the important part-
I found this "recipe" on Pinterest one day & thought it would be PERFECT to do with Brady!

You will need:
Nilla wafers
Keebler mint grasshopper cookies
coconut shavings
green food coloring
red frosting
yellow frosting

Put some coconut shavings in a baggy{as much as you'd like}
Tap 2 or 3 drops of green food coloring in & shake it up.
-This is where your kiddo comes in to play-
TA-DA!....lettuce!  (:
Next, just layer the ingredients in this order:
1} upside down Nilla Wafer
2} Keebler cookie
3} red icing on one side
4} yellow icing on the other side
5} green coconut shavings
6} Nilla Wafer to top it off

I love the simpleness of this!  It is perfect for kids of any age, I think!  Don't you love Chrissy's writing?  She's got some great skills!  Go check out her blog!  I love it!

Fill a Shape with a Photo in Photoshop Elements {Tutorial}

I decided to do something a little different today.  I love editing photos and figuring out new tricks in Photoshop Elements.  I have the Elements 6 version which is from 2007 (I think).  Newer versions can do the same, but have more features.

I want to share some fun things with you!  Plus, this will be a great way to document them to help me remember, just in case I forget!

Today, I will show you how to fill a shape with a picture.

I figured out how to do this a couple of weeks ago while creating a blog header for a friend.  By, the way, you should visit her new blog.  She crochets a lot and makes up all her patterns...she is amazing!  Her blog is Kotton Kreatures.

Anyway, I looked around on the internet for a tutorial and found one, but I hadn't planned on blogging about it, so I didn't save the location.  Sorry.  But, there a tons of tutorials out there...

Okie dokie....
First, you'll open a blank file.
Choose the size you'll want.  I didn't realize the pictures wouldn't be super clear, so I am sorry.  I will figure out something better for the next tut!  I chose a 4X6 and selected 300 pixels/in. for resolution.  I was told this is a good number for a nice picture.
Select the shape you would like to fill.  I chose one of the crop shapes.
Draw the shape to the size you want and fill it with black.
Next, make sure your shape is selected, go to File, and select Place.  A window will pop up and you'll choose the photo you want to use to fill the shape with.
The picture will be placed over the shape.  Move it to where you want it (or wait and you can move it later!)  You can resize it now or later.
Next, press CTRL + G ("group with previous" in Layer Menu).  Your photo will be cropped into the shape.
And that's it!  Super easy, huh?!  I also filled the background and added a drop shadow to the shape (you must select the shape - it won't work if you select the picture).  I also added some text.  To bring the text to the top, you will need to right click and select "bring to front."  Otherwise, it merges with the photo.
My sister is getting married soon and I am making her announcements.  I am so excited to use this!  If you have any questions, or requests for another tutorial, please let me know!

This same process may be used to fill a word with a picture, just make sure to have the word selected when you select "Place."

I am linking up here and here.

Guest Post: Heather from Banana Pudding

Today, we have the privilege of having a special guest post with a delicious recipe. (And for some reason, there are huge spaces between the bullets...sorry.  I have edited it, but blogger apparently has a mind of its own today.  If you know how to fix it, please help! UPDATE: An awesome reader told me to check the HTML and I did, and had to delete a few things, and it is more normal now...yay!) :)  I will let Heather take it from here:

Hey ya'll! This is Heather from the blog Banana Pudding! I am a crafty college student from Tennessee and I am so thankful that Stephanie decided to feature me today. I have some great recipes and tutorials over at my blog, so please come by for a visit! I thought I would share with you today my mini apple pie recipe. These are so yummy and perfect for this time of year! I promise they are easy as pie and so delicious!

Here is the recipe, and you can find the original post here!

Ingredients:

  • 6 apples peeled cored and chopped

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 4 tbsp sugar set aside 2 tbsp for topping

  • 2 3/4 tsp cinnamon set aside 3/4 tsp for topping

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 pkg of refrigerated rolled pie crust

  • 1/2 stick of butter melted

  • Parchment paper

  • Cookie sheet oven safe

    Directions

  • Mix together 2 tbsp of sugar and 3/4 tbsp of cinnamon and put aside.

  • Put chopped apples and water in a large pot and boil at medium heat for about 15 minutes.

  • Stir in honey, cinnamon, sugar, and brown sugar.

  • Then turn down to low and simmer for about 30 minutes, until apples are tender but still have some of their shape.

  • Now stir in cornstarch to get filling to desired thickness.

  • Preheat oven to 425 Degrees F.

  • Roll out pie crust dough and cut into 4 triangles. There are 2 rolls in the box, so this will make a    total of 8 triangles.

  • Place them on parchment paper on a oven safe cookie sheet.

  • Add a spoonful of filling onto the dough triangles.

  • Bring up the ends and pinch them together, to make sort of an apple pouch.

  • Brush the tops of the pies with melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

  • Bake in the oven for 15 minutes or until they are golden brown. Yield: serves 8

    Notes:

-You can use any type of refrigerated dough you like.

-You can mix equal parts powdered sugar and water and drizzle over the top for a nice glaze.

-The measurements are going to be based on the sweetness of your apples and the size of your batch.

Thanks so much again for having me! I hope you all have a wonderful day!

And make sure to stop by my blog and check out more yummy recipes, these crafty posts below, and so much more! :)

Yum!  Those look delicious!  Make sure to check out Heather's blog!  She has some really cute ideas!

    Toddler Tuesday #2 {Leaf Fun!}

This week's activity is super simple and you could do it in a variety of places.  Play in the leaves!

We went on a walk and found a big pile of leaves to walk around in.  Isaac absolutely loved it.  He didn't want to leave!  We picked out some leaves to bring home and tried to do leaf prints (place leaf under paper and color over the top), but it seems like it's a more advanced activity.

    November Stache Party!

It's time again for a new Stash Party!  I enjoyed looking through all of your projects!
This is what I made with my Stache last month:

It's a Halloween treat bag!  My son loved it and carried it around for a while with his cars and other toys inside!  I basically copied Jill's over at Homemade By Jill.

I decided to feature 9 projects that stood out to me from this past month's party.  If you were featured, feel free to grab a button:

I love this personalized scripture tote!  The fabric is adorable!  Diana of Closet Crafter made it!

These are so fun! Go see how to make them over at For Mommas By a Momma

I absolutely love this crochet bag that that Terry of These Peas Taste Funny made!  Go to her blog to see where she got the pattern!

Make your own baby wrap!  Find out how over at the Kid's Activites Blog.  You could make one for every outfit with the money you would save!

Check out this cute white pumpkin decoration!  I love how sparkly and pretty it is!  Made by For the Love of White.

What kid wouldn't love this playhouse?  I am so impressed!  I wish I could have one. :)  Go to Our Seven Dwarfs to check it out!

These glow in the dark spider balls look like so much fun!  I have been wanting to try these!  I love the glow-in-the-dark touch.  Check these out, along with a tutorial over at All Artful.

I love the baby doll diapers!  They are so cute!  Go check out Adventures of a DIY Mom to see more and see how she made doll wipes!

    2. Please follow me.
    3. Grab a button to spread the word! (Located on my buttons page - link in header)
